OFFseason

The braves have had a tough time this offseason. Missing out on AJ Burnett, Smoltz, Furcal, now Griffey. Throw Peavy in there too. Frank Wren just didnt get it done. This is something that I am not use to. Schurholtz (sp?) was the king of GMs in MLB. Wren is having the time of his life tryin to fill his shoes. Granite he doesnt have Ted Turners pocketbook, but this is gettin to be a huge downer.

However...

This time I think the AJC screwed it up for my beloved Bravos. David O'Brien and Terence Moore were the contributing journalists to the report yesterday that Griffey was going to become a Brave. The Braves official site states that this premature report was a deciding factor in the Braves not being able to seal the deal. This is not right!! The media has enough clout as it is; for, the AJC to not have the professionalism to wait until whats done is done to print news is ludacrous (sp?). Big time print media should not be making these kind of calls.

It reminds me of those pay-for-what-you get college sports sites, mainly forums, when trying to predict recruiting and coaching news. I was pissed when rivals, or whatever broke the news that Muschamp was coming to Auburn....NOPE. This is worse though. This truely is a damn shame. Editors of major news outlets should stop this from happening. False facts, terrible opinions, and downright BS for lack of better word, should be constrained to amatuer blogs such as this one. Shame on you AJC!!
