finished off the 6-pack

so i found this SWEET koozie while walking to the game yesterday. it was done by a tailgate that is mighty fond of their own cooking. on one side was their lil logo, but on the opposite side was "finish off the 6-pack" and had the scores from the first 5 victories from the streak. needless too say, i used the koozie constantly after the game.

this iron bowl has been awesome. it was neat to be in a relaxed town all week that transformed into a huge southern party by gameday. all year, and for other years i have been blessed to have been invited to tailgate with the Manriques and their relatives. they are really nice and fun people to be around on gameday. two bands, 6 boston butts, finger foods gallore and extra beer if you drink all you brought. this year i even ran into my cousin Billy and his wife Carla. seeing them more than once a year is certainly delightful.

continuing on with how awesome number 6 has been. being a 5th year is awkward at times because so many of your friends from college are no longer in Auburn. however, unlike other games, so many come back to town to enjoy the madness of the Iron Bowl. boarding the supper club bus on friday night with fried, vince, finney, whitestone, delaney, blankenboat, clay was marvelous. riding the drunk bus with good friends is a tradition that is uniquely Auburn. also over the course of the weekend got to spend time with Rivard, Alan, Sara, and Willis - a handful of people who i unfortunately do not get to see very often. i can't wait to go to Tuscaloosa next season nor can i wait until the Iron Bowl returns to the Plains in '09.

iron bowl

doesnt really seem like a typical iron bowl this week. the town of auburn is virtually empty, but without a doubt the RVs will be here tomorrow afternoon. both teams are coming off big loses, UA gettin shocked by ULM, LOL and our dreaded blowout at the hands of georgia. a good season will be salvaged with a win over Bama.

i'm ready for the weekend, doing school work though is not passing the time quickly at all. intensified time at moes aint helpin either, although the fat pay check in a couple weeks will be sweet.

how did it get warm alla sudden?

the joyful side of war

“John Gebhardt’s wife, Mindy, said that this little girl’s entire family was executed. The insurgents intended to execute the little girl also, and shot her in the head…but they failed to kill her. She was cared for in John’s hospital and is healing up, but continues to cry and moan. The nurses said John is the only one who seems to calm her down, so John has spent the last four nights holding her while they both slept in that chair. The girl is coming along with her healing.

He is a real Star of the war, and represents what America is trying to do.This, my friends, is worth sharing with the WORLD! Go for it!! You’ll never see things like this in the news. Please keep this going. Nothing will happen if you don’t, but the American public needs to see pictures like this and needs to realize that what we’re doing over there is making a difference. Even if it is just one little girl at a time.

James Gates U. S. Navy"

no doubt in my mind that it sucks to be in the middle east during these times. as much as i dislike hearing about the the war, mainly because all the reports, criticism, and second-guessing is so negative, this picture is pretty tight. schilling posted the same thing on his blog at 38pitches.com. where it says "represent what America is trying to do," kinda bugs me though. there are many people being treated wrongly by rulers, only a few of which are by IED blasting Iraqi insurgents

no more roadies as a student tiger

i took part of this entry directly from an email i wrote a friend, talkin about the game this weekend.

"no arrests, no tickets, no idea how. gettin a ride in athens is a bitch, no wonder so many people get public intox tickets there.

met up with my old roommate, Matt, and cousin, Katie, after the game. Katie and I are the same age, she graduated UGA in 4 years, i have no idea how. you definately won the bet, Katie loves to celebrate wins and she made me keep up.

that might have been the most energetic football team ive ever seen. the uga players kept the fans into the game so well. today at lunch, my uga friends were saying that was the most fun they have ever had at a uga game. it was definately the most fun ive ever had at a loss.

always helps that Bama loses, number one goes down, and ND getting destroyed is fantastic although we are use to it this season."

been awesome to be able to have five football seasons.

motivation

i like class. usually, but some of the work i am required to do i do not like. i dont really care to write journals or reflections, but i gotta do it. it's all due on the 28th, i got plenty of time.

"creative project" for FOUN might be a disaster. not something i care at all about doin well on. i am all about learning, a creative project is for grades. why have to work harder just for an A? crap like this should be extra credit.

Athens this weekend. Stayin the weekend with Matt West, one of the few folks from highschool i still talk to from high school. Gonna be packed out with Columbus folks i believe. palabra.

Moes tonite....wonderful
